I have an MSM background, and am probably guilty of maintaining the prejudices (well-earned, in some cases) against any mixing of commerce and editorial, but I think sites like download.com and others have shown for years that vendor-submitted data can be awfully sticky. It's not beyond the pale to imagine that more creative ways to integrate this with other forms of content. Though I'll add caveat that we'll all need to serve as watchdogs to restrain the inevitable inclination for some content providers to blur the lines to their own profit.</description>
